What our travelers say

“Pumzika camp is located deep on the Serengeti plain and takes a while to get to from the main gate, but juice and cold towels certainly refresh you after a long drive. William, Ramon and the team certainly look after their guests. The tents are spacious and the beds were the best we slept in in Tanzania. The outdoor private shower can be a little cold with the wind blowing but the water is mixed just to the right temperature. Dinners and breakfasts are generous and the lunch boxes were quite good given the location of the camp. Alcohol can be purchased at a reasonable price. This is glamping at its best but if the wind is blowing during the night, light sleepers may have a problem sleeping. Animals roam the grounds of a nighttime and you need to be prepared to be escorted after dark to and from dinner. Special mention to innocent who is a great waiter in training.”

"Serengeti Magic"

“Spent 2 nights here in late August 2016. Such a wonderful camp, memorable experience! I have nothing but positive things to say about this camp. Service was excellent, kind, always smiling. Food was very good for such a remote location. The ambiance in the tents, around the camp, in the dining tent was special. My favorite part was having a drink around the fire, with fellow travellers, watching the sun go down. Both nights we had spectacular sunsets! Tents were comfortable, everything functioned properly. the “showers” functioned better than I expected. Also, one day, after spending a full day out on safari, we returned to camp around 3pm to see some of the best wildlife of the day….two HUGE elephants RIGHT in the camp, trying to drink water from the shower buckets!!! And finally, I don’t understand any of the negative reviews of this camp. We had a 100% positive experience. We felt safe, and well cared for, and we live in the middle of New York City, so the environment was certainly foreign to us!”

"Excellent Camp, great service, great location, great views!"

“This camp is located in central Serengeti, but is off of the beaten path. Upon arrival, we were greeted with apple juice and cool, moist towels to wipe off the dust from our game drives. The staff was very welcoming, and showed us to our tent. The tent was quite large, consisting of two comfortable beds and even had an outdoor (but private) shower, which was fantastic! The tents provided a great place to relax, with a beautiful view of the Serengeti sunset. Dinner consisted of a candlelit meal in the mess tent. Meals consisted of generous and high quality portions of fruit, soup, entree and dessert, with wine and liquor was available for additional purchase. Once again, we were treated to very kind and attentive staff, who were genuinely interested in making the most of our evening with them. After dinner, we were escorted back to our tent (please keep in mind that this camp is open, and wildlife is free to roam). We were greeted by a group of buffalo settling in for the night just 20 feet outside our camp! All in all, we had an amazing time at the Pumzika camp!”

"Fantastic! Only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer!"
